Introduction
I was diagnosed with high-functioning Autism at three years old and got told by doctors and teachers that I would never survive mainstream education, pass matric, get into university and or live an independent life (like driving a car).
Today, I proved everyone wrong! This work portfolio is dedicated to my late mother, who is a life hero to me even now. She fought, every single day of her life, for me to get the equal education, security and independence that I deserve. She passed away in 2023 after an eight-year battle with stage 4 liver cancer, while I was in my second year of my degree studies.
